ABOUT DAN E.T.

Dan E.T. is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Danny Torgersen, who has built a reputation as one of the most prominent and prolific trumpet players and producers in Phoenix, Arizona.

Torgersen is known for his time as the charismatic frontman of popular “space-jazz” outfit Captain Squeegee, but has also been a staple on tour and in-studio for years with acts like Grieves, Badfish, Mouse Powell, The Irie, and Fayuca.

Enlisting the talents of Gerhardt Koelsch on drums and Corey Groove on bass, this “solo” departure delivers a fresh perspective on Torgersen's signature vocal delivery and lyrical topics (aliens and conspiracies and philosophy! oh my!) while combining elements of rock, reggae, ska, and jazz with dramatic and catchy melodies.

Their reggae-inspired debut single, “RoundTrip” (released April 2023) features rapper The Kaleidoscope Kid, and their follow up, “Do You Right”, features frequent collaborator and tourmate Grieves. The singles will eventually lead to the release of the project's debut EP in 2024!

Over Torgersen’s impressive career so far, he has played trumpet for Cardi B., Weezer, Gondwana, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, Bumpin Uglies, and Authority Zero; toured with the likes of Fidel Nadal (Argentina), Boom! Percussion, and AbbaFab; and has had the honor of opening for Animal Collective, CeeLo Green, George Clinton, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Ozomatli, Streetlight Manifesto, Watsky, Less Than Jake, and The Aquabats!.

In addition to his work with Captain Squeegee, Torgersen has also collaborated with other artists on various projects, including composing and arranging music for film and television. During his frequent touring and live performances, he’s opened for bands like Animal Collective, Ceelo Green, George Clinton, The Mighty Mighty Boss Tones, Streetlight Manifesto, Ozomati, Watsky, Less Than Jake, and The Aquabats!.
